Abstract

1,050,210. Knitting machines; loop pile fabrics. AMES TEXTILE CORPORATION. Aug. 21, 1964 [Aug. 21, 1963], No. 34292/64. Addition to 990,075. Headings D1C and D1K. A circular knitting machine for the production of pile fabric has means for independantly measuring the loops of pile and the loops of body yarn. In one embodiment (Fig. 3) yarn measuring members 24', 25' are located in the cylinder of a machine and the bearded needles are located in the dial of the machine. In a second embodiment Fig. 4 (not shown), one set of yarn measuring members is replaced by a stitch wheel 100 of known type. In this embodiment the bearded needles are located in the cylinder of the machine. In a further embodiment Fig. 6 (not shown) the second set of yarn measuring instruments is replaced by a set of latch needles.
