A multi-feed circular machine has pile-forming members 46 in a dial which members are adapted to be rocked so that their yarn-engaging ends 68 are raised as the needles are lowered to draw loops of the pile yarn and base fabric yarn, thereby enabling extended pile loops to be formed. Alternatively the needles may be contained in the dial and the members in the cylinder of the machine.
