Abstract

809,712. Knitted fabrics. SUPREME KNITTING MACHINE CO. Inc. Nov. 20, 1956 [April 4, 1956], No. 35396/56. Class 74 (2). The pile of a fabric is provided by projections 13 standing out substantially at right angles from a single continuous twisted yarn 12 which is held in a knitted base fabric by being interlaced with the loops thereof, the distal ends 15 of the projections forming the face of the fabric. In alternate courses, the projections are opposite alternate needle loops and, in the intervening courses, are opposite the intervening needle loops. The back of the pile fabric is formed by what would normally be the face of the jersey fabric. The bases of the projections 13 are twisted ; but, in the remaining portions thereof, the filaments are untwisted.
