863,880. Knitting. SCOTT & WILLIAMS Inc. Jan. 14, 1958 [Jan. 14, 1957], No. 1319/58. Drawings to Specification. Class 74 (2). On completion of two feed knitting of the toe by reciprocatory knitting on a circular machine, continuous rotary knitting is recommenced and one of the feeds is taken out of action so that knitting is effected at one feed only to produce the loopers' loose course. To avoid the formation of an eyelet and ensure that the end of the outgoing yarn of the feeder taken out of action is incorporated in the fabric a few spaced needles of a group are raised to tucking height to take the outgoing yarn so that this yarn is tucked by these needles at the next knitting station following knitting of the yarn from the other feed. Specification 704,843 is referred to.
