Abstract
A three feed circular knitting machine knits at two feeds only, namely the second and third when referred to the direction of movement, during reciprocatory knitting of heel and tow pockets and has pickers which lift one needle each in front of each active stitch cam to the inactive level during each reciprocation for decreasing; and for increasing has a picker 16 Figs 3 and 4 (not shown) which lowers three needles, at the commencement of movement in either direction, from the non-knitting to the active level which works in conjunction with one of the earlier mentioned pickers, lying before the second active feed relative to the direction of rotation, to lift one needle only to the non-knitting level.
