Abstract

1,223,317. Knitting. FORSCHUNGSINSTITUT FUR TEXTILTECHNOLOGIE. 23 April, 1968, No. 19137/68. Heading D1C. A fabric having a laid in yarn is produced on a circular machine and to ensure that the needles retained at a low level miss the yarn such that it passes at the back of their hooks, these needles are given a slight upward movement at the moment the remaining needles are drawn down by the stitch cam from a tuck level. Consequently the needles which draw loops and those that miss the yarn move in opposite directions such that the former draw the yarn down behind the heads of the lath. To assist this action the needle heads may be inclined forwardly a small amount.
