1362211 Knitting-machines G BILLI & C SpA 9 Sept 1971 [14 Sept 1970] 42015/71 Heading D1C In a circular machine alternate stitch cams e.g. 17 are set so that previously drawn loops M, fail to knock-over, and a selection is made so that some only of the needles, 37, take yarn at the next feed. Prior to cam 17 all the needles are raised to clear by part 47B of bolt cam 47. Loops M 3 are drawn by stitch cam 17 set at a higher level than interveening cams 15, 19. The previously drawn loops M, are not knocked-over. Selected e.g. alternate needles 3z continue in track T 3 to knock-over at the next stitch cam 19. The remaining needles are raised in track T 1 , but do not clear loop M 3 . The new yarn F 5 is taken and loops M 3 and M 5 knocked-over at cam 19. Loops M 1 , M 3 associated with needles 3z are retained in a two-throated sinker. Needles can be raised to a higher level by cam 47 to take a reinforcing yarn.
