Abstract

879,662. Knitted fabrics; knitting-machines. VEREINIGTE STRUMPFWERKE ESDA VEB. May 27, 1958, No. 16857/58. Class 74 (2). Plush fabric is made on a straight bar knitting machine. The yarn carrier laying the plush yarn 5 lags behind the ground yarn carrier and as the ground yarn 3 is sunk, the plush yarn is laid on top of the jack sinkers 1 and dividers 2. The plush yarn is then laid loosely against the needles 7 by vertical shoulders 6 on the dividers as they come forward (Fig. 2). As the needles descend, the plush yarn is severed on the sharp edges of recesses 8 on the sinkers (Fig. 3).
