Abstract

1,029,400. Knitting-machines. WILLIAM COTTON Ltd. Dec. 22, 1964 [Dec. 27, 1963], No. 51073/63. Heading D1C. In a coarse gauge straight-bar machine, to assist loop control, two sinkers 6 and two knocking over bits 8 are provided between the needles, as shown in Fig. 1. In view of the provision of the pairs of sinkers and knocking over bits the slur cock may be modified to reduce the normal amount of advance of the sinkers and the needle bar motion can be modified to reduce the depth of draw of the needles.
