[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Projectiles.-Consists in making explosive projectiles with a belt of balls e embedded in rings c around the outside of the shell body b. The rings are held in place by a screwed ring f; and there may be a single layer of balls along the whole length of the shell, or the front end of the shell as shown in Fig. 4 may have a double layer.
