Abstract

16,865. Cloudsley, J. L. July 15. [Addition to 26,015/11.] Two-stroke-cycle engines.-The engine works according to the method described in the parent Specification. Terminal inlet ports for air and combustible mixture are provided at D, G<1> respectively and a terminal exhaust port is located at C. Air from the crank casing is transferred to the cylinder through a port D<1> which opens into a bifurcated passage terminating in ports D arranged one on each side of the combustiblemixture inlet port G<1>, the passage leading to which is inclined towards the cylinder head. The pump H delivers its charge through a port H' slightly before or after the closing of the air-inlet ports D. The pump H may compress air which is carburetted by fuel entering through a nozzle J located in the passage G.
