Carding-engines; burring-apparatus.-In a carding-engine for wool, of the kind which comprises four lickers-in and three or four card-covered rollers or ' dividers ' acting with them, the fourth licker-in is removed and a group of rollers, comprising a brush B, a burring-cylinder C, and an angle stripper D, is substituted for it. The burrs are knocked by a beater H on to a tray J, and are removed therefrom by scrapers K. A worker and stripper may be used with the first or the third licker-in, or with both.
