Abstract
304,780. Gresser, L. Jan. 27, 1928, [Convention date]. Carding-engines.-In a revolving flat carding-engine the cylinder c, Fig. 1, is driven at a reduced speed and drives the flats h through gearing e, g at an increased speed. The flats h, Fig. 3, are provided at the rear of the clothing with a plate i of the same height as the clothing, to prevent long fibres becoming embedded in the clothing. The flats are supported on bends comprising sectors k adjustable on discs l. The fibre is doffed by a cylinder n and passed by cylinders o, o<1> to a cylinder p from which the fleece is removed by a vibrating comb. A brush cylinder q situated below the cylinder removes any impurities remaining in the clothing of the cylinder.
