Abstract

V a l v e s controlled from a distance; plug cocks.-A fluid-control valve apparatus operated from a distance by means of a separate pneumatic or other pressure control pipe line comprises a rotary plug or cylinder g, Fig. 3, having a partial pinion n thereon engaged by the teeth s of a rack formed on a piston e, exposed to the pressure-control pipe d, Fig. 1, at one end and having at the other end a hand - operating knob t for emergency. The valve casing has a through-bore f for the valve g and an enlarged chamber j, accommodating the pinion n and closed by a two-part hinged cover k, Figs. 1 and 3. A spring cap h, Figs. 3 and 6, closes the valve bore f. The teeth of the rack are formed as annular projections between grooves in the piston. An indicating-finger p is secured on the projecting end o of the valve stem.
