470. Wilks, G. Jan. 7. Bayonet and like joints; overlap joints, cup-leather.-In a hose or like coupling, an internal groove on a flange on one member is adapted to receive projections on the other member, the projections being retained in the groove by a spring bolt. A flange b on the coupling-member a is formed with a groove c, in the outer wall d of which are four gaps e adapted to pass four projections x on the member w. Opposite one of the gaps is a spring plunger g which has to be withdrawn by a knoh h before the projections can be alined with the gaps for disconnexion. A packing-ring p rests on a flange o and is retained by a nut s and washer r; a split spring ring p<1> may surround the packing.
