Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and rubber-ring and like cushions.-In wheels of the kind in which an annular elastic suspension-member such as 10 connects inner and outer rigid rims, the edges and centre of the member, in the form of annular ribs, are secured by expansible and contractible seating- rings. The outer metal rim 9, of arched section, has lateral grooves 12 in which the ribs 19 are secured by twin rings 20, 21. The inner split ring 20 is at first expanded by the tool shown in Fig. 4, and kept in that condition by a filling-piece 28, but finally the outer ring 21 takes the strain and keeps the ring 20 in tension around the rib. The central rib has embedded rigid pins 49 and is held between a continuous grooved ring 34 and a split expansible and contractible grooved ring 37 secured to the felloe. The rubber tread 13 has in each edge an embedded split circumferentiallyadjustable wire 15 lying inside the canvas insertion 14. The coupling 16 is accessible through a gap 17.
