Non-metallic elastic bodies and cores; block tyres; tyre attachments to rims.-A resilient tyre, which may be continuous or in sections, comprises a core 4 of greater resiliency than that of the outer part 2 and arranged to contact as shown with the wall of the cavity hut leaving side-spaces 5 for lateral expansion of the core under load. In a modification, the core is supported on a wood, hard rubber, or like base. Rods 6 fitted between the tyre edges 3 are hooked to one another and adjusted radially with respect to the rim by means of nuts 10 on threaded shanks 9. According to the Provisional Specification, the supporting-base may be formed of sail-cloth, fibre, horn; whalebone, hemp, cane, &c., and the tyre may be in twin or multiple form; the retaining-rod may be in two parts connected by a spiral spring, or may be in sections connected by turn-buckles.
