8413. Ransom, C. April 4. Tyre attachments to rims.-Means for supporting an outer solid tyre 7 on collapse of the pneumatic cushion 6 comprise rings or segments 9 secured to the rim flanges 5. The rings &c. 9 may be detachable; or, as shown in the Figure, may be circumferentially expansible and contractible, being provided with pins 11 engaging curved slots 12 in the flanges 5 for effecting the necessary transverse movement in adjustment.
