[Cognate Application, 22,430/09.] Detachable-rim attachments to wheels ; tyre attachments to rims.-To facilitate the manipulation of a pneumatic tyre, a detachable rim is constructed of a flexible nature radially while being continuous and inextensible circumferentially. In the form shown in Fig. 1, segments a of channel or like section are secured to one or more flexible bands c, the ends of the segments being shaped as shown to allow of radial deformation of the complete rim. The rim may be secured against a fixed angle-ring on the wheel felloe by means' of a detachable flange and transverse bolts. In a modification, the rim segments are hinged together. Figs. 8 and 9 show an arrangement in which the rim segments a carry distance-blocks a', certain of which are fitted with arms a<4>, a<5>, by which the rim is secured to the felloe d. A fixed stop d<2>, or a series of stops, may be fitted to prevent creeping.
