Abstract

2502. Vaurs, B. Feb. 22, 1912, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-The invention relates to carburettors having a main and auxiliary fuelnozzle and a water-nozzle, and consists mainly in the disposition of the nozzles. The main nozzle 2 and auxiliary nozzle 3 are supplied from the passage 4 and are both situated below a hit andmiss valve 10 which separates the carburetting- chamber 5 from the mixing-chamber 7 and controls the flow of the mixture. The valve 10 is pressed against the ported disk 9 by a spring 22 and tube 24. A tube 41 allows fuel to be fed when the throttle 10 is closed. Extra air is admitted by the valve 32. The water-nozzle 42 is situated in the mixing-chamber 7, and the supply of water to it is controlled by a cock which is actuated by the lever of the valve 10. A ring-valve on the inlet 6a enables hot or cold air to be admitted. The nozzles 2, 42 and tube 41 are on a common axis.
