Abstract
16,922. Griffin, G. Jan. 28, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-Two nozzles o situated at diametrically opposite points of the induction passage b deliver fuel respectively into and across the two air streams produced by the butterfly throttle valve l. This valve bears against the walls of the induction passage in its closed position, but is provided with a notch m through which flows a small quantity of air into which fuel is injected, to produce a starting-mixture, by the right-hand nozzle o, which is situated opposite the edge of the throttle valve. The nozzles are supplied with fuel from the float chamber e through two pipes t, the flow of fuel being regulated by valves q. Air, heated by the exhaust or otherwise, is admitted through the valve-controlled pipe c.
