25,166. Rosenberg, A. Nov. 2. Vaporizers, external. - Combustible gas is produced by the partial combustion of atomized liquid fuel in a limited supply of air under pressure. Fuel is drawn into a chamber 11 from a float chamber 26 by air from the reservoir 29, or is forced in by the pressure of the air, and partial combustion is started by a plug 23. The gases pass the baffles 24 and through the foraminous screen 25 and after admixture with air admitted through a valve 14 are led to the engine. The chamber 11 is fitted with a safety-valve 13. Water or steam may be admitted along with the fuel, and additional air may be drawn directly into the chamber 11.
