Abstract

20,225. Berdon, A. E. Sept. 5. Electro-magnetic switches.-A cut-in and cutout switch for use in conjunction with a dynamo having a battery 14 in parallel with its main load 6 consists of a permanent magnet 13 and a leaf spring 11 which carries the main contact 10 and on which shunt and series coils 8, 9 are so mounted as to be free to move over a polar projection on the magnet. The circuit of the series winding 9 is completed when the contact 10 is closed by the shunt coil 8, and the spring is retarded by a dash-pot.
