Abstract

116,981. Conner, M. S., and Puckette, C. C. Sept. 14, 1917. Electro-magnetic switches.-In battery-charging systems, the cut-in switch for the generator M has three cores B, C, D. The central core C has a fine wire winding which is in series, with a fine winding H on the core B, the two being placed across the generator. The armature E is pivoted on and forms a polar extension of the central core. A series coil is placed on each of the cores B, D; these coils reinforce the switching contacts, when the circuit has been closed by the coil H. On reversal of current both series coils assist the spring L or gravity to open the switch.
