Abstract

149,673. Krupp Akt.-Ges., F. Aug. 7, 1919, [Convention date]. Electro-magnetic switches for breaking circuit in case of overload are constructed with a series coil a<2> and two movable cores B and E restrained by springs C and F..The core B which carries the main current brush b<2> normally bridging across contacts D, D<1> is not attracted until the core E has been previously drawn a certain distance towards it, so decreasing the magnetic reluctance. The circuit is thus broken quickly and decidedly. In using the device with a motor not provided with a.starting rheostat, the springs and other parts are so dimensioned that the circuit is not opened by the temporary rush of current when the motor is switched in.
