Abstract

17,850. Hunt, A. H. Aug. 1. Battery lamps. - A hand lamp is provided with a skeleton case and a detachable lantern adapted to be packed inside the case after removing the battery. In the form shown, the case 1 of thin metal strip has two longitudinal metal guides 3, for the reception of a metal frame 4 carrying a reflector 6, lamp-holder 5, threaded lens carrier 8 and a switch 11. A bracket on the frame supports a contact 9 adapted to abut against the lamp and a contact 9<a> to engage the switch, which is pivoted to and projects through a slot in, the frame. Flexible leads 13 terminating in metal eyes are adapted to connect the contacts 9, 9<a> to the battery terminals and enable the lantern to be used at a distance from the battery. A suspension lug 2 and a handle 16 are provided on the case.
