Maps.-An electric flash lamp adapted for general illumination is also arranged to receive, between a bulb and a lens, a holder l for a miniature transparent or semi-transparent map. In one construction, this bulb c and lens g are situated at the opposite end to a bulb c and lens d for ordinary illumination, and a switch h can be slid into contact with either of the bulbholding reflectors. The map-holder l is inserted through a slot into guides f<1>; both the holder and the casing may be rectangular. A receptacle m for spare maps may be attached to the casing. In another construction, only one bulb and lens are provided, the lens being mounted in a tube which slides on the casing for focussing. A map-holder may also be applied to a lamp in which the bulb is situated at a flat side of the casing.
