Abstract

280,450. Lochmann, F. Feb. 22, 1927, [Convention date]. Pencil holders. - In a pencil holder consisting of a case a having a transparent cap b, an electric lamp e, and a battery i which, together with the case a, forms the body of the holder, the pencil d is arranged to abut, at its inner end, against the lamp. The cap b is formed as a lens for focusing the light near the point of the pencil. The case and battery are connected together by a bayonet-slot connection or by a projection on one part engaging a helical slot on the other so that the parts are relatively movable, this movement being used for the purpose of making or breaking the lamp circuit. The terminal of the lamp is adapted to engage with a terminal k of the battery, the other terminal of which is formed' by the outer wall. The circuit is completed through the casing a and a coiled spring f whose outer coils engage the casing a and which embraces the lamp socket. The pencil d is carried in a sheath c mounted in an aperture in the lens b, and is adjusted by pushing the lamp forward in the case.
