Abstract
244,952. Apmann, E. Feb. 25, 1925. Battery lamps.-An electric pocket lamp is provided with a tubular indicating arm adapted to be pushed telescopically on to the casing a of the lamp, and to emit light along the whole of its length. The arm, which is of glass, celluloid, paper or other translucent material, may have longitudinal, transverse, or helical coloured stripes. The lower end of the tube may be cut obliquely and be clamped to the casing by a clip e, Fig. 2, a slot being provided for the lamp switch. At its upper end the tube may be spherical or pointed. In a modification, the arm is of semicylindrical form at its upper part as in Fig. 8, and a reflector m may be fitted at its outer end. In the case of a flat lamp, the cover may be integral with the arm, or it may have a sleeve l, Fig. 10, and an electric bulb or a plurality of the same may be carried by the casing. The switch of the lamp may be arranged so that a ball i, Fig. 4, connects two contact plates n, o when the device is tilted.
