Boxes made from special blanks; straps, bands, and battens, strengthening; lids and covers.- Boxes are formed from a blank consisting of sheets of veneer connected by binding - wires 4, 7, Fig. 1, and constituting the sides of the box. The bottom is secured to internal cleats 2, and the lid to external cleats 3. The cleats 3 may be made as a separate blank, fastened together by a wire, and secured to the sides after the blank has been folded to form the box.
