Abstract

211,744. Taylor, N. H. April 12, 1923. Lined and folding boxes; lids, corner joints. - A container of the type formed of crimped wire is provided with a hinged cover 8 having hinged flaps 10 which are adapted to be folded over and secured to the side walls 4. The securing means may comprise a strap 11 adapted to pass through staples secured to or carried by the walls 4 and a securing plate 12, or each flap may be secured by a separate bolt passed through the staples. The binding wires 6 of the sides and bottom may be welded together to form a rigid container, Fig. 4, or the sides may be hinged to the bottom as in Fig. 1. The collapsable container may be held erect by pins or D-shaped rods 15 which engage rings provided on the vertical edges of the sides. The container may be lined with cardboard, waterproof paper, tinplate, &c., which may be secured to the sides or may be left loose, or the container may be fitted within a wooden box.
