Abstract

163,658. Bliss, H. R. Feb. 8, 1921. Lids. - The four sides a comprising the body part of a fibre-board shopping case are formed from a blank scored to provide also, at the mouth of the case, four flaps f which are turned outwardly over the sides, as shown. The flanged lid g, also formed from a blank, is placed over the mouth and its flanged sides stapled or wirestitched to the flaps f, to close the case, a blade anvil being interposed between the flaps f and the sides a to enable the stitches &c. to be clinched. The bottom d, of similar construction to the lid, is secured to the body by wire stitching e. The flaps f may each be secured to the corresponding side a by a single wire-stitch before the lid is applied.
