[Class 18] A collapsable container of cardboard, wood, &c., e.g. for butter, fruit or other perishable goods, comprises front, back, bottom and top walls 1, 2, 3, 4, Fig. 3, and closing flap 5 which may be constituted by a single blank, or by wood panels bound by wires in the usual way and separate end walls 22, cleats being attached to the ends of the walls to form end frames in which are interlocked cleats of all the walls. The cleats carried by the ends 22, front 1 and bottom 3 are shown in Figs. 6 and 7, a tenon 20 on bottom cleat 11 engaging mortises 25, 21 on both the end cleat 23 and the front cleat 14. The joint between the lid and the body is similar. In this case the walls 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 are made from the blank shown in Fig. 10, the cleats being attached to flaps 10. These flaps 10 may be omitted, the joint then having the configuration shown in Fig. 15. In a further modification a plain rectangular blank indicated by the line 17, Fig. 10, may be used. The cleats being tacked to the edges of the blanks. In another modification the wall 1 constitutes the bottom and wall 2 the lid, wall 4 being then attached to wall 1 to form a side so that in this form the double cleats 14, 23 come on the top and bottom. The closing flap 5 may be made airtight by wax. parchment paper, &c. The box may also be sealed by a sealing strip gummed to the top edge of the front wall which is pressed down by the flap 5 and makes a dustproof joint.
