(AREA)
Abstract
1304. Rotherham, K., and Johnson, W. Jan. 18. Spray carburettors.-The carburettor is of the type having simultaneous control of the throttle and supplementary air valves and an independent supply of air round the nozzle. A pin 14, which is fast to the throttle situated in the chamber 1, works in an irregularlyshaped slot 10 in a bar 4, which is held to the air valve 2 by screws 5 and 6. As the throttle is turned. the amount of air entering the gap 9 is varied according to the shape of the slot 10. The bar 4 may be adjustable towards or away from the centre of the throttle about the screw 6; or the slot 10 may be cut in the plate 2 and the bar dispensed with. The throttle is actuated by a Bowden wire and rack and pinion. Round the nipple is a sleeve 17 connected to the atmosphere by a tube 18.
