Abstract

9376. Ator, S. D., and Ator, T. r. April 18. Wrenches.- Relates to wrenches of the type in which the shank of the fixed jaw is formed with teeth, and the movable jaw sliding thereon is provided with a pivoted handle furnished with a pawl for engaging the teeth, whereby rapid adjustment of the movable jaw may be effected, and then a final movement obtained by gripping the pivoted handle and shank together. The movable jaw 9 has spaced side plates 10 embracing the shank 5, a longitudinal extension 11, and a circular head 12 to which is pivoted at 13 the operating-lever 14. Guide-plates 16 on the operating-lever embrace the shank 6 and extension 11, and are formed with ears 20 engaging recesses in the movable jaw. The pawl 22 is housed in a recess 21 of the operating- lever, is pivoted at 23 between the spaced plates 16, and is pressed towards the teeth 8 on the shank by a plate spring 24.
