Hand - grip wrenches; jaw faces.-Relates to wrenches of the type comprising a shank integral with a fixed jaw and another shank connected with a movable jaw slidable on the shank of the fixed jaw and having a detent adapted to engage the teeth of a rack on that shanli, the two shanks being extended to form hand-grips. The end c<2> of the movable shank c is slidably connected with the movable jaw b by means of a bracket b<1> thereon, and the jaw b is formed with extensions b<2> forming bearing-surfaces to prevent it from binding on the shank during adjustment. The upper surfaces of the teeth of the rack a<2> may be formed on tangents to arcs of circles struck from the end c<2> as radius so as to lock firmly and also allow the tooth c' to be readily disengaged therefrom for releasing the grip. The shank c may be provided with a double tooth instead of a single tooth. The wrench jaws are fitted with reversible blocks a<3>, b<3> adapted for gripping nuts or pipes.
