Addition, to 26,262/13.] Hand-grip wrenches; wrench-jaw faces and attachments. - In adjustable spanners and wrenches of the type described in the parent Specification, the rack e is so arranged on the shank a of the fixed jaw that, when the detent f of the shank b of the movable jaw c is in engagement therewith, the point of engagement coincides with a line joining the inner end of one end of the movable shank and the point of contact of the other end with the movable jaw. This construction necessitates less gripping-force by the user. The under surface of the movable jaw c has a cam-surface h formed thereon to increase the holding-grip as further hand pressure is applied. The fixed shank a may be in one piece, and the movable shank b of channel steel, or vice versa. In a modification, as shown in Fig. 5, the movable jaw c is slitted at the back, and its under surface formed with cam-surfaces h, which are engaged by projections m on each side of the channelled movable shank b. The hook member k shown in Fig. 1 is lengthened and brazed to the back of the movable jaw in the form shown in Fig. 5, to retain the movable shank b in position by the projections l, m respectively. A shoulder n or n<1> may be formed on the front of the movable jaw to prevent tilting.
