Spanners and wrenches. - A pipe wrench and spanner is provided with two guideways C for the toothed shank b<1> of the movable jaw and with a fixed pin or tooth D for engaging with the shank b<1>. A spring F fixed to one of the guideways C normally holds the shank b<1> in engagement with the tooth D. The jaws are serrated and may be upwardly inclined relatively to the handle.
