Sliding-jaw wrenches.-Relates to spanners of the kind in which one of the jaws is adjustable to enable the spanner to fit any ordinary size of nut, and is alternately opened and closed thereon by the oscillation of a lever or handle pivoted between forks on one jaw and linked to the adjustable jaw, which slides between the forks. The sliding jaw b is provided with lateral ribs or projections b<1> adapted to fit guideways a<3> formed in the slotted head a<1> which carries the fixed jaw a. The operating- lever e is pivoted to the head by a pin j and is connected by the link c to a projection b<2> on the underside of the movable jaw b.
