Hand-grip sliding- jaw wrenches. - A wrench having sliding jaws h, b is operated by handgrips f, m, of which the grip m, pivoted at n to a nut e integral with the other grip f, raises a movable jaw h, which slides on the shank a of the other jaw b. The shank a has flat sides d to prevent the jaw h from turning on it, and is also screwed to pass through the nut e, which is rectangular. An intermediate piece k, of rectangular shape at the lower part and circular near the top, slides on the nut e and has clutch teeth l engaging similar teeth on the sliding jaw h, whereby, by disengaging the jaw h against the pressure of a spring i on the shank a., the two jaws b, h can be together rotated through the nut e to obtain adjustment, the clutch l locking them in their new position. The jaw h is moved up and down by a cam o on the hand-grip m, engaging side flaps on the piece k. In another form, the clutch l may be omitted, and the parts h, k made in one. The hand-grips may be of any suitable shape.
