Hand grip and sliding-jaw wrenches; jaw faces and attachments. - In adjustable wrenches of the type in which the movable jaw c, sliding on the shank b of the fixed jaw a, is locked in position by means of a pivoted lever e situated on the opposite side of the shank to the jaw c and carrying a pivoted toothed block f adapted to engage serrations h on the shank b, the lever e is connected to the jaw c bv means of a link i rocking on a pivot k against spring-action and is provided with a projection l adapted to fulcrum on the back of the jaw c when the lever is moved in the direction of the arrow to release the block f. The pivots j and g of the lever e and block f respectively are arranged so that when the Jever is moved in the locking direction a final grip on the nut is provided. The link i is of U- shape and embraces the jaw c, the shank band the lever e, a spiral spring m being interposed between an adjustable screw p and the end of a recess in the jaw c. A jaw face attachment q, slidable on the shank b, has plain and serrated faces adapted to coact, with similar faces on the jaws c, a respectively for gripping nuts or pipes, a spring r holding the attachment in either position.
