Wrenches. - An instantaneously-adjustable pipe wrench comprises a shank A with a V- shaped toothed fixed jaw B, and a sliding jaw C, preferably made in two pieces secured together by rivets D and adapted to be locked in adjusted position by any suitable means, such as a wedge E operable by a cam projection F on the pivoted lever G. Gripping cams or eccentrics L, toothed at M, are pivoted at K to the movable jaw and are constrained to rotate together when gripping the pipe during the actuating stroke of the wrench by means of a transverse slide P, supported between the rivets D and formed with teeth N engaging recesses in the gripping-cams. The cams are returned to their normal position when the handle is swung in the other direction by a spring Q, or by any other suitable spring or springs.
