Abstract

A split sleeve A, of vulcanized fibre or other insulating-material, with an internal flange b, is held in place by a nut E with an insulating tubular extension to cover the lamp cap. The edges of the sleeve preferably overlap, and a slot may be provided for the key of a switch holder. A groove c and flange d may be provided for holding a shade, guard, &c. A cover H has a central hole or a radial slot for the passage of supply wires already installed. The nut E may be metal-cored, or entirely of insulating-material. In a modification, the lower end of the sleeve is tightly fitted in an internally-flanged ring, and the shade &c. is clamped between the ring and the nut E. The sleeve may also be provided with internal' lugs adapted to be clamped between the usual nut D and the ring.
