Actuating piston valves. -The auxiliary air inlet of an internal-combustion engine comprises a piston valve controlled by a Bowden transmitting-mechanism. The auxiliary air supply is admitted to the inlet pipe a through rectangular ports f in the casing, and circular, triangular, or other ports h in the valve g. In modifications, the ports may be only in the valve or only in the casing. The: valve may be either raised or lowered to uncover the ports, according to the construction. Either the inner or the outer member of the Bowden mechanism may be connected to the valve.
