Abstract
104,104. Dorman & Co., W. H., and Watson, O. W. J. June 22, 1916. Fluid relays.-A governor, particularly for internal-combustion engines, comprises a piston &c. C' connected to the throttle valve B and exposed on one side to the suction of the inlet pipe A through a conduit D. When the speed of the engine increases, a valve F' is depressed by a centrifugal governor so as to admit atmospheric pressure through the ports F<4> and a pipe E to the suction side of the piston C<1>, thus neutralizing the suction effect and allowing a spring C<2> to move the piston to close the throttle valve.
