Spring wheels.-The outer type-carrying rim 15 is movable in the plane of the wheel and is connected to the hub 12 by a series of endless cables 22 each passing over a pair of pulleys 20 carried by the rims and partly round a ring 14 of larger diameter than, and surrounding, the hub 12. The pullevs 20 may be provided with loose guide-rings 21 and may be carried on levers 17 adjustable by a set-screw 18. Pivoted arms 23 carried by the hub 12 are provided with pulleys 25 and guide-rings 26 which bear on each cable between the associated pair of rim supports, and other pivoted arms 27 carry pulleys 29 and guide-rings 30 which bear on two cable elements where they cross. In a modification, the ring 14 may be provided with pulleys which are loosely surrounded by guide-rings bearing on the cables and the hub. The suspension device may be contained in a space formed by a disc 6 and cover-plate 31 carried by the rim.
