Abstract

185,892. Douglas, J. July 5, 1921. Wind and like screens.-In a wind and weather screen, more particularly for use in motor-cycle side-cars, a transparent screen is attached to one end of a rigid weather shield adapted to slide, upon guides, runners or the like on each side ot the car body, with respect to the door, the interior of the car body in front of the windscreen being thus kept covered. The shield c of three-ply wood, metal, or other material is adapted to slide over runners e upon the sides of the body a, one of them being continued across the door b and provided with, a hinge in alignment with the door hinge, so that while locking the door when in the in-use or rear position, the screen d may be pushed forwards and the door opened to permit egress from the vehicle. Stops are provided on the ends of the runners e to limit the travel of the screen. Means for maintaining a watertight joint at the front edge of the shield and for angular adjustment of the windscreen may be provided ,and a shelf or locker fitted under the shield.
