Abstract
181,020. Latour, M. June 4, 1921, [Convention date]. Transformers. - A set of parts is provided for demonstrating various types of electric generators, motors, and rotary converters by interchange of parts and variation of connections, or for use as a toy. The parts comprise a base-plate 5, Fig. 15, a stator frame attachable to the baseplate, a rotor which can be mounted in standards 29 attachable to the baseplate, commutators and brushes for direct and alternating current attachable to the rotor shaft and standards, pole-pieces and permanent-magnet elements for alternative use in the stator frame, transformer elements, separate coils of different sizes for attachment to the stator frame, rotor, and transformer elements, and a magnet member for alternative use on the rotor shaft. The transformer comprises a laminated rectangular frame 4@, 41, Fig. 18, attached to a base 39 by a top plate 60 and two insulated clamping-bolts 43 carrying sliding terminals 59. Coils similar to those used on the pole-pieces in the stator frame are assembled on the vertical limbs between insulating plates 44 carrying terminals 45.
