Abstract

178,466. Daimler - Motoren - Ges. April 16, 1921, [Convention date]. Regulating.-Regulation of the fuel-injection air and of the fuel is obtained by a centrifugal governor connected, to the fuel valve and to the loading- spring of the reducing-valve through which the injection air passes. The governor h is shown connected by a lever f, rod d, and bell crank c<1> to a piston b<1> which bears against the reducing- valve a, so that as the speed increases, the piston b<1> is moved by the governor so as to augment the pressure of the loading-spring b and thereby increase the pressure of the injection air. The lever f is further connected by a rod k to the fuel valve m. When the highest injection pressure has been obtained, a spring i interposed in the rod d yields, and allows the rod k to close the fuel valve, thereby shutting off the fuel at excessive speeds.
