Abstract

176,653. Thorpe, A. G. Feb. 24, 1921. Combined piston and double beat lift valves.- The spindle of a water-tap or the like carries a piston valve P and two conical lift valves E<1>, E<2>, which operate to close and open in series. The piston P is of square cross-section controlling inlet ports B. The two conical valves E<1>, E<2> are made of different taper but arranged to seat simultaneously. The rod E is screwed at the end and operated by a handle F, or a lever or push-handle may be used.. The conical valves open against the fluid pressure.
